Who we are
Meet Sylvia and Annette
As sisters, lifelong friends, and creative partners. Though our careers have taken us in different directions, our shared passion for storytelling and working with children brought us together to create books that encourage little explorers to dream, learn, and grow.
About Dr. Sylvia Hill
Dr. Sylvia Hill is an experienced elementary school teacher with a passion for sparking curiosity in young minds. While she currently teaches science, her love for learning has led her to teach many subjects over the years—including art, where she encourages creativity and self-expression. Dedicated to motivating children through hands-on discovery, Dr. Hill believes every lesson is an opportunity to inspire wonder. Dr. Hill is also a talented artist who loves to draw and paint, and she is proficient in digital art. She’s married to her husband, Charles, and has an adult daughter named Neiki. Dr. Hill continues to inspire children with her joyful and creative approach to teaching and storytelling.
About Annette Gonzalez
Annette Gonzalez brings over 40 years of experience as a software engineer, having worked with a variety of innovative and industry leading software firms throughout her career. Alongside her love of technology, Annette is also a passionate artist who enjoys drawing, painting, and has recently embraced the world of digital art. She’s married to her husband, Octavio, and together they had the joy of raising their triplets—Aaron, Arielle, and Adrian. Her creativity and love for working with children inspire her stories, which aim to spark curiosity, imagination, and a sense of creativity in young readers.
Our Story
Our creative journey began with a shared dream to bring learning and imagination together through stories that children can see, feel, and remember. From afternoons spent sketching ideas to late-night brainstorming sessions, each book we create is a celebration of curiosity, nature, and growth.
Our Mission
We believe stories have the power to teach, comfort, and inspire. Through our books, we aim to help young readers explore the beauty of nature, understand change, and find joy in discovering the world around them.
Behind the Books
Each story is a blend of Annette’s creative imagination, shaped by her knowledge of technology, and Dr. Hill’s deep teaching insight. Every image in our books is a creative collaboration between art and technology. Reflecting her lifelong love of art and storytelling, Dr. Hill created her own lovely, hand-painted illustrations for an educational book long before the rise of digital and AI-assisted tools. Today, we design and prototype our digital illustrations using tools like Procreate and Photoshop while also developing visual storyboards. We may optionally choose to use AI tools to refine characters, colors, textures, and details. This process allows us to achieve the perfect balance of creativity and precision on every page, creating books that connect imagination and education and help children learn while having fun.
